How she operates as a matchmaker
” For me, every thing is checked out by means of a dating jewish girl jewishdatingsites.biz dating site lense, so it is actually certainly not just a life train, ‘allow’s assist you obtain your life in order.’ It is actually, you know, if you don’t have a job and also you need to have a work, our experts are actually getting one because you are actually supporting on your own so you await what’s about to come, if you possess plannings of being engaged and married. I possess those very same plans for my customers, so our team intend to receive points level and also maintain everyone’s lifestyles steady and also hassle-free.”
On the value of the intermediator in Judaism
” Without an intermediator, actually, the Jewishpeople wouldn’t be here. Any component of the world where folks prefer and rely on their individuals and also would like to see all of them reside on, the only way to do that is actually throughbeing paired up as well as continuing to carry more folks in to the world as well as to continue withyour beliefs.”
” I would point out like in ‘Fiddler on the Rooftop,’ you know, like, ‘Tradition!’ You recognize, like, our company intend to continue along withour customs. And a matchmaker doesn’t need to be somebody professional. It could be a close friend or a loved one or even a next-door neighbor.”
On getting paid for her services
” Generally, the moment a matchis actually produced, an intermediator is paid for, you understand, either upon engagement or even marriage, relying on what the custom-mades are, and also the expenses range anywhere coming from a 1000 to a number of many thousand bucks.”
” Matchmakers were actually regularly spent, and also it’s actually one thing that’s in the Torah, whichis the JewishHoly bible, that informs our team our company are obliged to pay our matchmaker, whether they’re qualified or not qualified, because it is actually meant to take you true blessings in your relationship.”
” There is actually no muchbetter discount than a really great partner. It’ll save you hundreds of bucks in a separation.”
Other methods Jewishsingle people typically comply with
Number 1 Dating Site In Philly
” I understand specifically in our community, suits are actually usually created at the Shabbat dining table. Shabbat is the JewishSabbath. At the moment, there is a fantastic organization gotten in touchwithShabbat.com, and folks can go onto the web site, click to have a Shabbat meal along withany sort of family, in any type of part of the planet, as well as you may just find yourself encountering your partner at that table.”
Number 1 Online Dating Site
” The Jewishtradition has delegated it to others, whether it’s somebody professional or otherwise. When you’re discussing a dating jewish girl, SawYouAtSinai is actually for additional religious Jews, and they don’t look for themselves. Matchmakers simply hunt for all of them. But something like JDate is a searchengine like some other matchmaking web site, and also an individual can easily go on themselves. Therefore really, an individual is carrying out the matchmaking themselves. I appear to assume what’s overlooking is actually the mentoring piece.”

Those are some cool welding glasses. Hi, Kyle Hill sent me. That was a pretty sweet steel whip you made.
Kyle ordered me here. Though, “I think it’s better if you’d let me do this” would’ve brought me here anyway. It’s about time someone took just a tiny bit off of his ego. I mean, he’s Hill, not the Mountain… 😛
Was excited to see you in Kyle’s video, think your gonna have awesome stuff here!
WOW! Sent over by Kyle. Not quite sure what you’re gonna do but excited to find out! Good luck with your channel!
I love the steel chain whip you made and it would be great to see more of the wielding in your artwork. I also love this video. Keep it up.
Kyle made me subscribe. He threatened me with a steel whip. That’s what he’s been using it for.
Hell yeah Thea, I’m so glad you are starting up again! (I’m also here due to Kyle’s video.) I’ll keep an eye out, hope you have fun with it.
I feel like this will be my new favorite channel. You were awesome in Kyle’s video and I just watched everything you posted on YouTube so far and was extremely entertained! Thank you for existing!
Kyle tried to send me but I was already running, I look forward to seeing more of your videos, and I love how you promote safe and proper use of tools, you are proof that cool can be safe
Kyle Hill sent me here. He did well. I work graveyard shifts restocking shelves in a grocery store, so I’ve stayed employed throughout COVID-19… which has been good for paying the bills and bad for my stress levels. Your quarantine special series has been awesome, and I’m going to recommend you to all of my artistic friends who might find you inspirational.
You have so many talents and are one of my new favorite YouTubers. 🖤
This looks like the kind of quality content I want in my life.
Funny enough, I grab my first Mapgas torch and get ready to start learning how to work metal, and BAM, The Facility drops me here! Crazy world! Love this trailer.
I’m just curious as to how you’re not covered in burn marks after welding in a sleeveless top
Hey Thea! Excited to see what your channel has in store for us! Found you courtesy of the Evil Genius Kyle…I mean Kyle Hill. Looking forward to seeing you expand your channel!
Def interested to see your creativity dude!
Here from Kyle but you combine two of my favorite things… fierce women and metal work. Had to come over and subscribe.
Im new here, from Kyle’s video, but can’t wait to see your stuff!!!
Watching your videos is like watching Lara croft Irl. Lol i really enjoy them! Keep it up 🤠
@Thea. I hope you realize you just became a star. You are awesome and I would clone you. (LoL) This channel might become the best thing a human has done under the rona. Well other than save lives, feed us, or create a cure. You got pizazz, and heat. I can’t wait to see more.
Looking forward to more vids : )
I enjoy what I had found online with your videos and images so far. If I were to set up a game profile [old tabletop role playing games] based on you, I would say Talents include [but not limited to]: Acrobatics, Artist, Performer, maybe even Repair/Tinkering. Would you happen to have any gamer’s dice sets? 🙂 (The game I am referring to is free, BTW, and you can help stat up Kyle Hill as a supervillain!)
Wow girl, your on your way to being Youtube famous
Kyle sent me here, was impressed with your craft, now impressed with a whole plathera of trades. Swiss-Army-Woman.
I can totally imagine her welding Together the deathstar while humming “momma’s home”.
Simone Giertz has a rival at last. There’s a boss battle / collab I can’t wait for.
The Marylin Monroe of the welding. Far too underrated this channel !
Oh hell yeah, I am all about this. Ready to get on board before the herd comes lol
Kyle Hill sent me here!!! I can’t wait for all of the awesomeness over here!!!
Everyone saying Kyle sent them… that’s cool but I’m here because you shot Allen Pan in the face!
do you plan to do welding tutorials? I want to get into welding but don’t have time for trade school because I’m at university for chemistry and physics
Here with the Kyle raid! Great channel!
I have never been so immediately captivated by a person.
I’m assuming you do either ballet or some dance art form in your spare time
Nice! I think you getting it dialed in now!
Soooo that chain bull whip was pretty damned badass.
Damn. I only found u through kyle like 10 mins ago but I think I’m in love XD
Yeah I think some crisper video, smooth slo-mo B-roll and good audio and music will take you to the next level. I think your dark humor is shocking and disarming but at the same time there’s this wholesome “you-be-you and I’ll love you for it” vibe that’s very welcoming. It makes you eye catching at first, and memorable afterward which is a great combo. I think there could also be a few strong messages to somehow combine to give the channel a voice. Like theres the strong woman aspect but also self-love and chasing that masterpiece and taking your art and passion seriously. Like art can be anything but art that speaks to its creator is something different i think. There’s definitely some kind of single, easy to understand and desirable message in there. Maybe like “the best way to be yourself, is to get to know yourself, so get out there and create and find who you are” i don’t know that’s probably too “self help” lol I’m spitballing but somewhere in that vein feels like it matches you based on what I’ve seen so far. I’m curious to see where your channel goes. Subscribed 😁
Sent by the basilisk…. approved! 👍
“she cut a guy in half”… What does kyle mean by that? 🤔
You’re like mix of Rosie the riveter and Marilyn Monroe.
Coming here from Kyle channel. Cant wait to see whats coming!
Yeah yeah, I’m with the group that Kyle sent
now thats what i call girl power
Under 1.3k subscribers at this exact moment … thats going to change real fast !
Did anyone else get Michael Reaves vibes when she pulled out the taser?
Kyle sent me via a steel chain whip!
Has anyone told you you look like Elizabeth Berkley?
OK, I have been successfully teased. Let’s see what you’ve got…
Not gonna lie – she reminds me of Angelina Jolie…
idk who this kyle (batman) guy is but i feel like i need to be subscribed here
Facility bump!
You handling that blow torch…. It’s pretty hot.
she looks like elizabeth berkley
Professor Hill send me. He said you need more subscribers.
I feel a cyberpunk 2077 vibe.
And thus, an entire generation of lesbians decided to get into welding
Thea can i simp for you? Also Kyle sent me, dope ass whip.
I, for one, welcome our new Overmistress, and happily offer up my body for modification and/or experimentation.
Kyle sent me, also saw that nice looking offset smoker in the background, future video?
Ok Kyle, i’m here. What do i win???
Be still, my gay heart
I was sent here on Kyle Hills orders
Who’s here from the facility
Came from the Facility.
I didn’t event finish this before subscibing
The Facility Bump
Steel whip brought me here.
Kyle sent me as well
will you marry me?
Kyle Hill sent me here
Well well well…
Every time I see a new video from you, I get immediately happy just because of how cool you are!
You are one of the most under rated channels on YouTube
Thanks for being my inspiration to start going into computer science! Keep at it man!
I loved this Rewind my dude….possible a tradition?? was hilarious lol!!!
Homie Jabril is eating apples with chopsticks
Nothing will ever beat Forrest
Hey Jabrilis thanks for putting out such great stuff! I feel like meme coder is beaten to death at this point but the nuance and intelligence are real with this channel.
You’re the best Jabril. Your videos reinspired my interest in working in development! In 2020, watching your videos inspired me to join a dev bootcamp. I’m graduating in February, it’s been crazy but your work was a huge inspiration to me.
I sub for your personality and the love of exploration expressed through computers/electronics. So honestly i think itd be hard for you to make a video outside of the wheel house
This video was fantastic! Made me realize I missed some awesome videos, you should do this every year. ! 🙂
literally in awe of everything this man does and that INCLUDES apple chopsticks ❤️❤️❤️
Me and My Girlfriend are always on the lookout for a new video from you! You’re so entertaining and make awesome content. Plz keep it up and don’t stop!
Interestingly enough, I actually encountered this in my game. I was working on some kind of Shotgun jumping for an FPS game, then I flew so far that the gun in my hand started doing the thing the planet is doing in the video
I’d love to see an ai for world dom!
Love the video like always, you put in so much work for us viewers, really appreciate it!
im soo happy he posted love his vids
I found you from that quantum computing video, probably because I happened to be watching a lot of vids about it and gaming at the time. Glad I did!! Your vids!! Will definitely catch up on everything else I missed too!!
Genius idea to boost views on older content! I am now going to check out some of the videos I didn’t catch last year. I’ll be straight with you though, I saw them in my stream but didn’t watch them. You talking about what you did in each upload did a much better job of convincing me to watch them than the thumb/title did alone
Of the ones this year my favourite one is about the floating points! I think I learned something useful from that one. (And I apologize for not watching the anime one, I don’t watch anime much, and I felt like I had seen a few of “ai generates…” videos.)
Things like float error and blocking on graphics are probably good things since they can teach your audience. You need to do the quantum computer Minecraft thing, it was an awesome idea. You also need to tell us about your second channel at the end of every single video on this channel, so that us people that want short form unedited videos of your progress can get it.
If there is one thing you and Mumbo share as a weakness, it’s NOT ENOUGH LIVESTREAMS.
Can’t wait for the next video love all the work you put into the videos and what you love to do you are a very big Inspiration to me and I hope I can be as great as you one day love you
Your channel has it’s own style and I think all your viewers realize that and enjoy it. Too many copycat channels now so it’s a breath of fresh air. Don’t be afraid to experiment. It’s nice to have an overarching theme but if you wouldn’t have branched out I’m afraid the channel might have gotten stale. Taking a risk definitely paid off.
Just wanna say that I watched over 20 videos of yours after the first day I got introduced to your content. That was probably two days ago, but now I’m slowly realizing at this rate I’m going to run out of videos to watch.
Please keep them up!
Welcome back my man. You have been missed.
You’re a cool dude bro consider me subscribed and I don’t subscribe to NO ONE. Had this account for years. Your videos are def dope and you are free from a cycle of working for someone else. I wish you the best in your future and hope to meet you one day!
Love your content!!! Keep it up!!
But other than that i wanna thank you all for a great 2020. Here’s a toast to make it a great 2021. But This year I think its probably time that we build the AI the world …..?? I really wish i knew how it ended lmao 8:27
Idk why or how, but I’m surprised you’ve made 12 videos this year because I haven’t seen all 12 even though I’m subscribed with notifications. Hopefully that changes in 2021
Am actually impressed
Nice job Jabrils, love your projects and your channel
I like this channel, i go away i come back to a couple of sick videos. Keep it up Bro!
its not just about more videos but also the advanced and complicated stuff you make.
I feel that pain of only uploading a few times a year😭 literally made a goal to try to upload at least twice a month and honestly? I’m already getting my ass kicked
Dude you’re one of my favorite channels!
Thanks for the 12 videos this year 🤩
im a art youtuber and LOVE your videos!! Please keep on pushing black man!!
upvoted for wholesome
Yes I would love to see ultra bouters 2
Jabrils, you are awesome and we love you
world dom-
I was wondering why I hadn’t seen your videos in my recommendations. I subbed you finally. Keep up the great work!
The AI cut him off in the end. The World Domination AI doesn’t want him to reveal its Secrets. XD
Great content throughout the year! I also have to say your “my channel is dying” did come up in my recommended out of know here 😀
This is the best Rewind ever!
Keep uploading intresting content🔥
The floating-point precision video is my favorite.
What if I told you, I had an AI Challenge, that would change the way you looked at and thought about AI? And if you were to complete this challenge you would go down as an Innovator in AI in Video Game? What say you? Are you Ready?
Wow director’s information cut voiceover sounds amazing for YouTubers etc – I mentioned to who I was corresponding with about potentially writing for her that you got a Qiskit sponsorship – I hope that and similar happens again for you if the gaming public themselves don’t overwhelm you with their interest and money etc🤯
Love your vids man!
Love you and your videos!
Jabrils!!!! Spot whining about your channel and help me build an AI TO CONQUER THE WORLD! You know for giggles and stuff…. Love your content mate! (Without whining).
we need more videos 🙁
The best thing about him is he doesn’t talk when the camera shows his face, he uses a voiceover
You should have a lot more subs than 451K!
Love it
I bet if you make a scripting tutorial on unity you’ll get more views
Yo Jabrils. . . Your inspired me to open my own Youtube channel !! Thanks
It’s a shame that your most expensive video didn’t even get 100k views. That proves that spending a lot of money on videos is a waste of money since it’s hard to earn it back. Markiplier spent a lot of money on a video that did worse than an average daily video of his for example.
Damn, youtube got you again! 🙂
Was your new year’s resolution to eat healthier from now on?
Jabrils is so underrated.
12 videos + programming is OUTSTANDING.
Relatable on an spiritual level.
At Jabrils ultimate computer glass are so cool😆😆
Use community posts to grow your channel
Please clap will never stop being funny, or sad for original clip.
Is anybody else really craving an ultra bouters 2
listen pal. you are hilarious. it doesn’t matter if your games are boring or your ideas are weird. you make people laugh allot, and that’s great. so yeah more content would be awesome, i mean don’t be self conscious about what to post, all your stuff is obscure and awesome anyways. great work.
Jabrils: “I think it’s time we build that AI for world domin-“
👏👏 It’s not an easy life..
Yes! Finally, an AI for the World Dominos Championships!
Progress is progress good job
NOICE! 👌😎
I can’t even remember, was it you who said they hooked up a robot to an Xbox controller? Any update on that?

don’t scare us like that again 😩
wish I had been in your environment back then. Coding has been my passion since the 1970s, and I wish I could have been there to instill that passion for it in you. I’ve never been a gamer or a game developer, but code is code. It barely matters what the end goal is if you love the process.
My favorite part about your journey is how many ideas you actually finished, and from a really young age!! My greatest struggle has been having giant documents of ideas, and repositories of stubbed code, but I get too “in my head” and never finish. Keep it up!!!!
they had us in the first half, not gonna lie
Moral of the story is adults should encourage kids to do “hard” things
Bruh u got cereal sponsor what a legend
I’m just really jealous that you actually have footage or backups of your earliest projects
Jabrils’ “Yo guys” cleanses my soul from any sadness and dread I might’ve had.
… he’s not quitting, he’s telling his story, calm down guys.
You really cant give up on the amazing ability to abandon a project right when its starting to come together….such an underrated skill.
Yo Jabrils, if some kid today asked you how to start making a game, what would you tell them? How do you balance being encouraging while also being realistic about it?
hahah “moving on to the next distraction” hit me right in the soul.
Damn with those 3D models you might be able to animate the next season of ex-arm
I want to hear the full story! Make a video about it!
You had me in the first half, not gonna lie
I’ve also been in this position throughout my undergrad years. I wasn’t really good enough to develop awesome games and had to move on and pay the bills as a web developer lol… It’s inspiring to see you persevere and continue to have fun with the process. Well done man!
This is a positive message for the YouTube algorithm.
I’m a Indie Games Developer myself and this video was a nice watch man. Found your channel a month or so ago. Keep up the good content. Love from UK
I just recently started messing around with game dev as a hobby and I actually find this more gratifying than my day job as a web dev. There’s just this amazing feeling seeing the world I’m making slowly come to life.
I’m so glad I found this little gem of a channel. Your voice and expression is just so chill and pure, I could listen to you for hours. So here’s to another 2000 years xD
Yes, Jabrils, please make a video on how you came back to coding after all the times that you are discouraged. I would love to hear that story to be inspired.
I’m definitely interested in hearing the full story dude! I’m guessing alot of us are:))
Keep pushing and outdoing yourself, J. You’ve always surprised me by the great content you’ve distributed for your fans. We’re very proud of you bud!
Man, I buried the feeling of eating a family-size bag of skittles in an afternoon way down, and you dug it back up :(. Love the video.
You should be very proud of what you accomplished in those time spans because I dont think any human could had the patience as you to make all those games by oneself. I have to give a pat on the back for all this accomplishment for all these small projects you finished well done for you. Very inspiring story 😉
PLEASE! I want to hear the full story! Also, I absolutely LOVE your video style. It’s super unique and surprisingly entertaining. Thank you so much for great content!
This reminds me of my ins and outs as well, either with rpg maker, gamemaker studio and unity. Gotta keep pushing on!
I had a small heart attack… thank you for that! hahaha Your content is amazing! A fan from Brazil here
Thank you for this video, I can relate to this so much. I’ve been trying to get back into game dev and coding and videos like this help motivate me.
Such an inspirational story. Wishing you all the best from the UK. I am just a mathematician (who models a lot using Python), but can certainly appreciate the difficulties you must have faced. Still, at such a young age, so phenomenal!
So good to hear this story! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve read on game forums or coding forums that it’s too difficult, you’re over your head, don’t bother, there’s no chance of making a successful game when all I want to do is sit and code and learn and have fun doing it, and am just looking for some advice on a coding bump that I’m experiencing. There are too many nay-sayers and not enough people that just say “go for it”. THANK YOU for the video!!!
I really needed to hear a story like that right now! Thanks! I’m in a different situation but have some similarities for sure. I’m currently trying to learn to code and, after staring at the same error for so long that it didn’t look like English anymore, I was getting pretty discouraged. I haven’t given up, and I still think that the hardest part is forcing myself to push through the frustration, but my motivation has taken a serious hit over the past few days.
I feel this story so much. something very similar happened to me. Thankfully we’re both coding now 👍
I’m glad you didn’t give up on coding, and I’m ecstatic you haven’t really quit your YouTube channel! When I was in high school, I didn’t think I was smart enough to move on from Scratch, but just like you said at , once I finally tried GMS, I realized I knew a lot more coding concepts than I thought, and that there were practically an infinite amount of resources online to help me learn the things I didn’t know.
You know you’ve made it in Youtube, when you say nearly 500000 subs, when your still 49000 away, like it aint no thing… Well done though mate! Keep up the great work
ALmost died here. Stoped what i was doing… steped out and opened the video. thanks god you are still here with us!
Super inspiring story, I’m really glad you’ve been successful in your YouTube and will hopefully keep growing.
I started coding on my commodore 64 when I was 9 years old. Somehow it was easier getting into programming then, as it booted straight into BASIC when you turned it on. There was no internet, and I knew noone that did programming, or even knew what it was. I just read some code listings in the back of a magazine and tried to type it in and see what got out. By the time I was 12, I had access to a 386 PC and after playing with QBASIC for a while my dad brought home 27 floppy disks containing the full version of Boreland C++ that he had borrowed from a software engineer at his at work together with a big fat “learn C++” book. I didn’t know that C++ was supposed to be difficult even for grownups so I just learned it 😀 Funnily enough this kind of proves your point. If everyone around you tell you something is difficult you will be discouraged. After learning C and C++ at such an early age, the way was basically paved for me. I dropped out of computer science at university because I was bored to death. I had 10 years of programming experience after all. I got a job at a local TV station writing games that went on national TV instead.
This is so motivating, thank you.
I am so proud of your hard work and i can not wait for the next event you have.
WATCH THE VIDEO PLEASE THANK YOU, he didnt quit, your boi quit coding smh
and yes I think many of us are inspired by you and would love to hear your full story being that many of us can relate. Best wishes!
We love you Jabrils, do never quit on being you!
Can relate to this on many levels. For me trying to get into animation and constantly getting knockbacks and people lacking in encouragement over the years. It is hard to keep that passion and intrest going. Good to see you stuck with it.
i am very glad I watched this video, your story is inspiring. i have wanted to make something myself for quite a while, but the only project i ever ended up finishing was using an old RPG making program called “Sword of Moonlight”, which was a tool for making King’s Field games (which is the series that FromSoft was known for before making Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls). I have been thinking of trying to do something in C with SDL, but right now I just don’t have time because I am drowning in coursework, and a lot of my summers have been busy with undergrad research programs.
Lesson: Don’t listen to people about how hard something is. You never try, you never really know.
happy early half mil! I’ve been trying to get myself back into programming from my game maker love affair. So, I look up to many game devs like you (if that isn’t too cringe)
Clicked so fast can’t miss the Jabrils content
you’re an awesome inspiration man! thank you so much for sticking it out. i have a similar story, the “dark ages” of coding due to lack of encouragement/support resonates with me a lot.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I remember making a couple of stupid games on shoot ’em up construction kit and releasing them PD through my local game shop. Loooooong ago.
I used to code games in Qbasic back in the day and have been watching your channel for awhile as I save up for a better gaming/vfx rig so I can start doing things like teaching myself coding again. Hearing your story gives me hope that I might be able to actually do it! And sorry to hear there’s a tragic part to the story of your 10 year hiatus. If it’s not too difficult to discuss, I’d personally be interested in hearing the rest of it. Thanks for making awesome content!
Great to hear your story, so glad you stuck with it and got to where you are at – you’re a legend, keep it up!!
You quit many times but you came back, so it was more like temporary vacation, you were always a coder and gamer at heart, I would love to learn coding but the time investment is what stops me, and knowing that I will struggle with it too.
I love your channel bro and I hope the algorithm starts picking up your videos again
dude, i love your videos soo much, ive found a similar thing when doing projects by myself, it might be a good idea to try and make a game with a small group of people. I found the shared passion and the speed of development and support made it way more fun and i learnt so much to!
thanks for uploading this Jabril. Literally just encouraged me to continue this coding journey
Man, tell us the long story! Always great to see some motivational stories, and reassuring hopes by not leaving them.
There is no way someone wouldn’t be at least a little bit curious to hear the full story
Great story man! The only reason I ever started coding is because the I.T. guy at my school guided me through some of the barriers that I encountered.
Your channel at 400k is still underrated imo
I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story. I feel a lot in common here, except that I started my programming journey at 30 and 2 years later im feeling a lot like 15yo you. But, thanks to you, I am still trying.
Hey man , it was fun being a part of this journey with you and yes , here’s to another 2000 years J , cheers
That’s pretty cool. I started learning coding pretty late in life, and had a regret about not taking it up in my teens. I’m pretty sure my story would’ve been the same, I would’ve dropped it tbh, it likely would’ve gone the same way as my interest in gaming/anime, straight down the pan.
I’m so glad to hear your story cause it’s just like mine. You quit programming for 10 years at the end of high school? I quit for 7! And I’m so hard on myself for that, and wonder where I’d be had I kept with it, but here you are showing me that I’ve no reason to be so hard on myself. It means so much to have representation in the field too, when so many other programmers on YouTube are white men, who I can respect, but can’t relate to.
Congratulations on overcoming the obstacles – great story 🙂
I want to hear the full story! Make a video about it!
Man, that story of a kid being stuck with Game Maker and way less support online and IRL, that’s exactly what my childhood was like… the kids these days have no idea how good they have it ;D Thanks for sharing your story, love it 💜
IT WAS WHY HE QUIT BEFORE WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER HE IS STILL DOING IT
That’s so relatable. I also don’t get any incentive from my environment (family and friends). But I believe im myself. 😎
I feel you man. Wasn’t much access to coding in small town Illinois growing up either. Had to wait until community college
That cereal is exactly what I need since I’m on keto diet so it’s perfect! 4 net carbs is amazing for cereal
Your story is very similar to mine, I always wanted to be a developer even as a kid, but got discouraged by my surroundings because there wasn’t an obvious career path. No schools that really taught developing etc. I also didn’t really realize that you could learn it yourself outside of school.
This video was inspirational for me. I’m 41 and just getting into Unity. Learning to code and make games is proving to be much more difficult than I even imagined, but I’m determined to do it or die. Now if only I could make a Scriptable Object without my head exploding…
brooo that title GOT me haha and please release a part 2 where you talk about the long story😀
Wow, this in incredibly close to my story also. I gave up on games, and now make apps for personal use for my job.
Glad you found your passion. Never give up on your dreams young man.
Thanks, i really needed this story lol. Learning on your own with no influence or support from others makes learning any new skill a bitch lol!! Keep on coding 😀
Good luck on your future.
before watching the video. And since you got the sponsor I bought a sample pack of the cereal😁
You literally yanked my experience, thank you so much
This was the most helpful video I could find. A nice long-ish video just explaining everything I have looked for, this is really gonna help me fir starting my streams’ 🙂
Damn, those are some pretty sad mentors. Who tells a kid that stuff and gives them professional software expecting them to know how to use it?
Hey man this story is really inspiring thanks for the encouragement.
Litterally the fastest ever I’ve seen a video.
this makes me wanna learn coding again, my graphics card went coo-coo 3 months ago when i really wanted to start streaming me learning unity, now i can’t even run 90s games without huge lags so the only option is to learn c# separately and im really scared of it bc i have no idea what to do with it outside the unity engine, i think after this video i might try learning from courses and forums and shit, kinda have some courage and energy for it, thank you man
your mysterious final sentence cutoffs at the end of the videos always make me laugh! thanks! I can relate about the game maker thing- very similar things happened to me in highschool, except i did share my games and moded halo, and became one of those kids LOL. and I haven’t made a game in a long time. I’m hoping to get back into it at some point with unreal or something but the problem is my ideas for games are always way bigger then what i have time to make. sigh
Glad to see you’re still publishing. They say when man plans, God laughs. Keep doing what you’re doing brother.
I am always looking forward to your creations. You bring a unique perspective. I’m sorry we didnt encourage you enough. Love you jabrilss
Reminded me of game maker. I can’t even open my old projects since they moved it from free with licensing to paid for the entire thing. Hmm
Dude you’re so chill, I feel like I’ve been meditating for 15 min after watching this video (I say this as a compliment).
I wanna start that coding journey again after 5 years. Thanks for the video bruh I felt like you’re narrating my coding journey
please share more, this is so awesome and inspiring
Thanks for making this. Your personal journey resonated with my experiences, and I’m coming away from the video inspired. Be well.
At first I thought “First Brackeys now this!!?”
Awesome video, this is such a great story. Definitely will be assigning this as a must watch for my students.
I know it’s gotta be scary sharing your personal story on the internet and it’s entirely up to you, but it’s a beautiful thing understanding where people are coming from and the event’s that have shaped you as a person, so I hope that you do end up making a video on it <3
Awesome video. I love your channel. Keep on fighting!
Yes you should definitely make a video about the rest of the story!
Wth! I’m in my 2nd year and seriously though you you’ve been doing this for a decade! I need to dedicate more time per week on deep study!!
Alt title: Why I’ve quit quitting
Dude you are awesome. Please make a part 2 explaining that story you skipped over! I love GREAT stories!
Honey wake up, new Jabrils video!
Cool to hear about your journey, fun growth hack that title ;), keep going strong, never give up.
You’re awesome dude. I’m glad you didn’t stay out of the coding GAME. Your videos are super inspirational.
Man, your content is super entertaining, love it!
Best channel, love your content, BTW the way you talk on the background with your face on without actually “talking” is very fun and innovative, and yours games looks fun, keep up the good work <3
Wow, that was super cool. I’m 13 now with 2ish years of python with me. I started a lot like you. I love to play video games always have and my dad one day told me I could learn to make them I was shocked and surprised. I got a book on python a month later and my dad said we would learn it together. Although just a day later he stoped I didn’t I was too invested the first day I typed print(“Hello World”) it felt amazing. On my third day, I used inputs to make a mad-libs kind of story it was just awesome. Then I started playing games again leaving coding on the shelf because well it was boring and hard, I tried to pick up javascript and HTML but I left that as well. I didn’t code a lot being 12 just played Fortnite with my friends because it was popular. Two days ago I was at my dad’s and I tried to solve a Rubik’s cube but I couldn’t so I promised myself I would code one. Two days later, I made a 3D Rubiks cube that I’m quite proud of using a few python libraries. I hope I keep going like you did and maybe one day create an AI like yours. If you’ve read this much thank you and have a great day.
Good luck bromas. Do what you want!
Our timeline on getting into software development is eerily similar(I started 2006), all the way down to the deep dive into game maker. I also experienced the same disconnect from billboarding to actual 3d meshes. Awesome
I went through a similar struggle the only difference is I had more coding experience but still end up doubting myself. Also there wasn’t a whole lot of opportunities to even learn how to game dev or YouTube. Unity is actually pretty amazing. I struggle by trying to go too big and just quitting when I’m just stepping in. It’s a real struggle.
My sister found that cereal too haha. Wow it’s cool to see your history with coding and game dev, kinds makes me think of me with 3D modeling in Blender (started from just Kirby fan art several years ago and working on improving after taking a hiatus). Wishing you the best in the future 😀 Also I skip and leave projects depending on inspiration/motivation all the time too ahhh But even these little things are all like mini practices even if they don’t become full-finished projects
I am proud That I was a viewer of you. Happy I donated to you once too
I hope that this is clickbait
Wow, we started making games around the same time. I started making games in 2007 as well. I started in a software called “Game Creator”and then a year later, I started coding my games in BlitzBASIC. Yes, this was WAYYY before Unity got off the ground! I wish I would have known you back then, because I would have introduced you to BlitzBASIC which has 2D and 3D and BlitzBASIC made it very easy and it wasn’t intimidating. And I learned A TON of coding from their forums where one could post their code and there was ALWAYS somebody that would help you do what you do and thus, one could learn quickly.
Dude I feel like UltraBouters need to be updated because it’s a awesome idea and it can easily get popular because of how fun it is. If you don’t someone is gonna steal the concept of the game.
been watching you since the SEFD days, it’s been like watching a neighbors kid grow up, and you want to tell them you’re proud, but you’re not really part of their family so it’d be weird, but nontheless I am a very proud oberserver.
I felt that i was always discouraged from following my passion of video games and even coding. I didnt start coding until i was in college and didn’t start game dev until after college despite having a passion for video games ever since I got my hands on Pokemon Yellow when I was 10
after a while of watching jabril not moving his lips when he talks i got used to it
Brackeyes wasn’t enough?
I’m kind of the same, except I did some html and JavaScript when I was 13 and by the time I was 14, I made a bootleg pong (it also had a 2 player mode!) but then stopped around 15. I’m turning 16 in 1 month and this video is inspiring me to go back.
gl with what eever uw ant to do
The OG Game Maker was what got me into coding as well! That is awesome!!
I was also so happy when I started to learn a language and realised its not as complicated than people say. I stayed away from programing for years because of the naysayers haha
The real reason he quit: he felt like when he ate cereal he was eating candy for breakfast
we need to hear the full version.. pleaseee.. it will bring motivations to people like mee..
Dude I’m proud of you
You’ve completed so many more projects than I ever have
I remember Jabrils when this was a prank channel way back then lol Im so glad you bought back your real passion
He’s truly ahead of his time
Glad you got back to coding, inspiring story <3
Great story. Thanks for sharing. I quit and started again now im doing good in my field.
Hey how’s everything man?! And the title of the video had scared me, but glad all is well! I’m glad that you got back into coding and what not! You are very inspiring and everything requires hard work and consistency. But we do have a God given gift to do many things, so like you said in the video, we can do anything (of course hoping that they’re positive things LOL). I wanted to also say keep up the hard work and to keep going and growing!
Too hard to learn? You were killing it dude, I learnt half the stuff I know about ai from you :/ and I’m a great programmer… I guess everyone has their own limits but man you have great potential
Nice to heard that… when I wanted to start making games I thought the process was more a binary thing… just 1 and 0 at the screen… even when I tried the “learning bots” with no-code… I still thinking like that… when finally I got Game-Editor and learned the lenguage code (c++ exist) and was used to make functions within the engine… WoW was a lifechange too… interesting to heard an hisotry in certain ways similar to mine, even when I still a hobbist, and learned five years ago about Unity and Blender. But yes, a lot of years making 2D simple games and prototypes.
I am 37 and my dream is to learn coding. You give me hope bros. Thank you
Thanks. This is a pretty encouraging and wholesome video.
wholesome video. you motivated me to download my coding folder again from the cloud 🙂 thank you
you rock man 🤙🏼
For some reason adults do two things all at the same time: tell you to try new things and also, crushes your dreams before it’s even solidified. lol Obviously, this is an overgeneralization, but you guys get my point.
wow.. yeah its so weird, the job of an adult, especially in compsci, is to get kids past those hurdles to get them a taste. And it takes a village to raise a child. I had similar experiences too
“i did what i do best still to this day and moved on to the next distraction” ………… dat wun hitz RITE in dem feels
we also got the Godot game engine in these last years, and it’s totally Open Source and free to use.
i feel like when you where young, i still have that mentality towards programming, that is too difficult and when i face an obstacle, i stop and proceed to another thing to learn or i keep hiding from that. An important lesson from Jabrils here, dont let other peoples fears, become yours.
hey @Jabrils, your videos on ml got me so excited about ai, I said no more putting it off, and to pursued learning and going for a career in ml and dl
Honestly this inspired me to follow my dreams
Came here thinking you quit. Left more motivated about my own journey. Thank you.
Thanks for the awesome story of your life experience!
magic spoon seems like the discount cereal you put sugar in at home.
Yooo my story is pretty damn similar to that. I started game making when I was around 13, but I started on the Unity engine. I only made one game, it being an attempt to replicate COD Zombies since I loved it so much but got incredibly burnt playing it so much. I had absolutely no one to relate to except my dad which is one of the best software developers I’ve ever known. And after a year of tampering and playing around in the engine trying to get what I want, I run into a huge problem that corrupted all my saves. Not knowing what backups are, my motivation for game dev went down the drain, through the floor and to Australia. I had burnt my games onto disks (that I still have) but I tried my best to sell them to my classmates by playing it on the school computers. Absolutely no one was interested except for a few cool teachers but at least I got McDonalds after school that day :D. Now I’m a software dev that feel’s like I’m wasting my time at the company I’m at because I want to develop my own games and do stuff I only dream of doing (additionally I dont get anything challenging to work on anymore). I am supposed to be working but I get barely any stories to actually do for more than a day so I’m here now in the comments section.
Encouragement is so important, especially for newly budding developers.
the first part was really nice for me because i have a really bad feeling that i am really slow at programming, but it hase shown me that i can take my time.
Tell us more! love to hear about your biography
Looking forward to part 2
Yo Jabrils, love you and your content, keep up the good work!
Wish I had the courage to finish and release the kind of projects you did instead of scrapping every single one to a vast graveyard nobody knows about.
Thank you for having R as well there. You are a star. Bravo
Whew, had me worried there for a moment, haha! Great stuff as always! Rock on!
man since i was a kid all my life i wanted to make games, it 97 when i was 13 i had pentium I and my best software was click and play… i made so many games but it was no scrolling games! so when i got bored with it i continued with my life. fast forward to 2010 after i knew coding (java and javascript) and worked as low tear scripter at a start up company for 4 years and with the release of unity free i was, hey i can start making games now! so for some reason i actually chose game maker because i am more into 2d games and started my journey. its funny that today after 10 years i try to less code and much as i can and deal more with the game design and i work in the industry . Love your channel !
It’s why I always say, never quit. Keep Making Games.
when i was 7, in the 70s i used to code in machine language for my Z-80 motherboard, which i built from scratch, using wirewrapping. i made timers, alarms, simple games. etc. then i became a teen and got into music and left computers behind. i’m 55 now, but i did get a job 2 years ago which required me to learn coding. python. i was surprised at how advanced and easy it was to do stuff , esp compared to the assembly and BASIC/FORTRAN i knew as a kid. i was also impressed with the code editors that made it seem like i was cheating. i used visual studio.
Just imagine the raw footage of Jabrils’s appearances.
I gave up on playing games, but virtual reality reignited my passion. I love it so much have you tried it? Dont you get as excited about VR as you got from 2D to 3D gaming. For me all 2D and 3D games are boring now and I try all the VR games I can afford. Luckily they are very cheap and lots of indie games to try out. The Quest 2 is also cheap enough so no more excuses.
I loved the story, and I respect the bamboozling from the title haha
i’m too prepared every time april fools is close
I’m literally going through this rn lmao
My story is very similar. Always had people telling me how hard it was to develop software. After I coded a few websites I gave up for almost a decade and wasted my time. I graduate with honours in 2 weeks for Mobile Application Design and Development. Been enjoying your videos all the way through school the past 2 years, much love.
This is kinda what I’m going through right now I have access to a lot of videos to learn but it feels to hard I never thought I was smart but I feel there is no way I can be successful I just want to give up but I know I can’t give up I’m not gonna give up
Bless the C language style and its adoption. It makes jumping from one language to another less intimidating
Ohhhh I’m so happy he’s not quitting youtube! I was so worried
Tell the full story! You’ve got us WAY too invested into your story to not hear the whole thing! I feel like everyone of us goes through setbacks trying to learn coding, and hearing your many ups and downs demonstrates why you shouldn’t give up.
great story im 43 and i remember thinking i can write a game in 1991 failed and abandon all plans by 1993 to run after women and now im broke and wish i would have played with Radio shack computers longer to understand coding.
My experience was almost exactly the same. Maybe one day when i start working on my channel again Ill be telling a similar, albiet darker story to my subs.
I feel like the iPod generations contextualize the time so well!
I love that R got a shoutout alongside python, C(#/++) and java(script) in this story.
Don’t scare me like that dude. Been here since the first game AI video you did.
From another Kearny High Graduate Class of 75. Congratulations young man never give up.
I need to learn math. Same way I didn’t see myself as “smart enough”
damn I still give up on projects because of lack of knowledge, how long it takes to make 3D assets and animations. But i am really sad because I somehow lost a multiplayer project I’ve been working on… I can’t find my backup but I wanted to start over anyways
man, youre an inspiration to a lot of people outhere!!! tkyu!!!
i wish I could code like you! I always struggle with it.
what i take away from this video is maybe we shouldn’t quit..maybe that super hard project that requires so much time invested, we should keep that going
I think a good part you sad was that the “big scary” languages are not that far of from your knowledge with game maker. And I think this is very true. I started to learn coding as autodidact with QBasic. And that knowledge alone helped me to work with half a dozen different coding languages without much of a hassle to get into them. I think what I’m trying to say is, it’s good to start small and easy but you don’t have to be afraid to dream and aim big regarding coding (and probably generally most things in live).
I had the exact same experience when moving from GameMaker to Unity. I was shocked, that it was so similar. xD
Your story is inspiring. Thanks
“Invested my time in sports, being a teenager, trying to get girls and stuff like that, going to parties … it was a bit of a dark age” lol
Im soooo happy that you got back into codinggg so many people get discouraged and act like its wizardry and a lot of people tell them that its hard and its very sad
Bless you brother. Good work. Keep going.
Appreciate the story! Keep it up. 🙂
Similar to how I learned how to program. Trying desperately to program the next big flash game (never happened, lol). The only way is to keep failing until eventually you get it or succeed. There are no geniuses… just really persistent people!
Man I’m 11 and every animation I’ve done is made by me, I’ve been learning unity, ik some basic blender, and I know python
I swear I played your game on gamemaker forums, your story is so so so relatable, I feel like were almost the same person lol. Except for one thing, I’m not a youtube creator, I followed a career in web development. But I found your channel and started using unity. It really is amazing. I still have lots of love for gamemaker though.
I do this all the time, it is great.
I am so glad for you.
You should see the Isometric GameMaker Lighting engine I am currently working on. I make Gamemakers 2D room, with almost no input from the user, turn into what appears to be a 3D game with a camera fixed at roughly a 45 degree angle. I simply use custom shaders, normal maps and a specially designed Depth buffer for Sorting. The results are absolutely amazing if I may say so myself, better than anything I have yet seen in GM.
Super f(x) is still my favorite! Your channel is an inspiration man!
So glad this was a bit different than I expected from the title!
Man, I feel this story. Although I don’t think I’ll ever improve.
This is really relatable
Please make videos!! Whatever it is we’ll binge everything anyway!!
You need more subs man.
I have quit so many projects in my life, it’s absurd. I have a graveyard of names and a memorial service filled with thousands of disappointed people lol
I love how you always talk while you eat
yes more code please do more you inspire me
awesome story man! I’m a noob beginner coder/game maker…. So far I’ve manage to make a text game that guesses what number you’re thinking of….. eventually ;). maybe one day when I make a name for myself we can collab on a game… but step one…. make a name for myself and put out a real game. OOOOoooooo I’m sooo excited I could just go super sayan. I’ll even take Krillin lvl 1
I hope you say “Thats no bad boogie man” more
Dude, you scared me! I JUST got to transfer learning in this coding bootcamp and was remembering your old vid on it the whole time. Keep up the great work, plz!
That’s inspiring
Bruh, i literally put off watching this video for like a week. Had to mentally prepare myself. Glad you’re sticking around, Great video, thank you for sharing.
You are amazing, Jabrils!
YES PART TWO PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
god this is relatable!
“I’ve quit” is not equal to “I quit.” I’ve is equal to I HAVE. Its past tense
I feel like I see a lot of game engine ads and their selling point is always “…and you don’t even have to code!” This is funny because coding is literally my favorite part, but it is scary to a lot of people, so it makes sense.
the best of luck for you and your children in the future!
Moral of the story: US primary education system got in the way the whole time just like me
being a teen that discovered Game Maker around 2006, i related too much to this 😛
Bro no way!! I had that game maker in middle school. My Brother would use it to makes some pretty simple games. But that shit way soo fun anyway
If you use some libraries, you can make 3D games without unity/UE/Godot etc. , you need some advanced maths to orthogonally project edges onto a camera, but once you did it, you can do whatever you want.
Yes part 2 of thos content please!!
I’m so glad you finally got off your benzo addiction. Here’s to another sober year
“Make coding cool in school” should be a thing.
Such a familiar roadmap to GameDev bliss. Idea hopping is the greatest demon to defeat. Happy coding bro✌
Nice finaly the most typical April fools joke ive seen yet ;D
Valves source engine was still around and free to use at that time
This is bait of excellent quality
Like most failed programmers, I turned into a software tester. 😀
First tech channel with a food sponsor I guess. Great job XD Will support
I get you with the skittles, I got two family size bags of peanut M&Ms, ate them within 3 days and am still regretting it
Yes, Bro Awesome Story! <3
I want to hear it. Tell the story please!!!
Holy crap Jabrils! Loved this!
I would’ve loved to be your friend in high school so we can talk about coding. We would be viewed as the nerds.
One day too early for an april fools joke, now im nervous to watch lmao
Your video made me cry and reinstall unity. Love ya.
i like how you represent the year with the current apple product of the time idk why but i do
I feel happy for today’s kids cause they have stuff like Handmade Hero and Jabrils.
Man, I really wish Magic Spoon was available in Brazil
I totally get why you gave up on things without proper help and encouragement. Happened to me as well.
I owned Game Maker 6 when I was a kid and made loads of awful 2d games before losing interest. When the lockdown started last year, after not making a game for over 10 years, I decided to learn C# and downloaded Unity. My first 3D game comes out next week!
I need to know what brought you back to coding my dude. Tragedies and all.
used it for close to a decade 🙏
Phew… I was worried because of the title. I was about to suggest creating a 3D Game Engine that many of us can build together, especially able to be coded entirely from AND for our smartphones through an on-the-go drag&drop framework… with a wave function collapse algorithm to generate a payload of beautiful unique graphics. As a group… we simply keep adding new algorithms through your awesome channel, maybe by voting.
we need the full story brotha
You are great Jabrils!
I thought he was gone say, “and then I started watching Anime and charged the f*$% back up like an Automaton x Dragon Ball Z”.
Wait a minute, was the computer in the back receiving audio signals? Jabril really does have telepathy!
You scared me for a second. I thought you were quitting youtube. That sucked to hear your teachers telling you game programming is hard. My highschool had a programming class (i graduated in 06) and every assignment my teacher gave us was to make a game. The lessons of the day were not game related but he would tell us to use what we had learned to build a game. It was all in visual studio and c++…no fancy game engines.
I did not think you were making treats in the opening of the vid. Just having a normal one with hot cereal and milk
This shit made me jump, your shit is too good now to ditch!
you’re the best!
I started making games in game maker as well lol(that’s where I started loving coding)
Congrats!!!
if he ever launches a gamejam the theme will be about food
Im waiting on my pc before I start developing games, so until then im just using Dreams on ps5
“I dunno what net carbs means” it means there’s more carbs, but they’re subtracting the ones they think your body will consume digesting it
Hey Jabrils, what software would you recommend for beginners new to coding that want to eventually make games? Can you recommend a free and paid software?
I know the feeling me too
I installed GODOT few days ago and then I remember I have my exams one month later and gave it a pause.
I wouldn’t be a Jabrils video without having the last couple of seconds cu…
Jabrils my man, I would have clicked this vid either way you didn’t need to clickbait us.
I watched pygame tutorial started make python gui, later I saw SDL visualisation so I started setup SDL on my vs code and started learning, after some days I google alternative to SDL ..I got SFML, I did the same …now I’m learning three.js
If this isn’t a joke imma be mega depressed
Scary how similar your coding journey was to mine – Stoked that we both made it to careers, and hopeful that we’ll leave the path clearer for the future generations than when we first walked it.
he’s right I know what this is like
I have that exact ipod. I use it every single day. Love it because it doesn’t have an internet connection so I can listen to music without getting notifications of emails or anything.
One thing you wont quit is the sugar xD
Amazing story
Thanks for the nostalgia!
This video is just great. can’t even explain why
Yo boy u always will success if u work hard 😓
Bro, I’ve seen you eat more sugar than anyone and everyone I’ve ever seen eating sweets combined. (…you’re like me)
Also yes I do wanna hear about how u got back into coding
Duuuuude!! I spent so much time studying coding because I wanted to make games. I almost quit it, because I felt I am no good for coding games. I coded custom rendering engine, albeit raycasting, thus slow as hell as my final project at high school, but I felt like coding games is too hard and wanted to quit coding. But then I met some guys on my Erasmus trip who showed me Unity. Those guys showed me the code in unity and I was like, the hell?? What kind of black magic is this. I learned Unity, I worked 3 years at worlds renown mobile game developer company and I live from coding to this day (no games ATM, but … I’ll return)
Making games Is the final frontier of coding . Programmers make games to express their coding prowess to earn respect.
Make a video about the full story!
Shout out for those of us that started with gamemaker 5!
Make the next video about it I’m interested & I wanna learn how to do 3D coating
Similar story actually but I was born even further away from Unity days. I didn’t quit writing code though I switched to webdev and that really changed my life. I think the other unfortunate part of game dev is that it’s like the movie/music business. It’s hard to make consistent reliable income on top of the tons of work/skill/luck/timing required. Contrast that with a useful SaaS app on.a subscription that you can build an entire business on.
part 2 before next year please
this video hits…….. that lil 10 yr break man you learn a lot tho.
How dare you! You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.
I used to love the idea of creating games, but hated the concept of coding. I wanted to make a game not a program. Long story short I discovered Dungeons and Dragons and the world of table top role playing games. Rn I’m working on creating my own TTRPG, and it’s going amazingly.
Good luck man
demotivated until I saw this…. Thank you so much.
Hey, Natalie here… So we were neighbors in 2003-2006ish, my brother’s name is Nick. Your cousin Marquis was my classmate, we all used to skate & roam the Linda Vista streets. I deleted my Ig & FB yrs ago but figured you probably remember me, keep up the good work 👍🏾
God that bad habit of abandoning projects is too relatable as another game dev. I hope I can pull through and make some of my ambitions more realistic so I don’t overwork myself all the time
I feel like maybe I might not got to college for Gaming because of how much you can learn without the college experience, but I dont know what else to study, I only have a few things im interested in
I love you man <3
The buildup to the AD was magnificent, 10/10.
I Love How He Uses To iPod’s To Represent The Year.. lol
Let me get that full story asap!
I made so many crappy games on gamemaker 3d as a kid. I wish I still had that computer around to look at that stuff… I remember thinking Gamemaker 3d wasn’t cheap as a kid ( its was like $90 if I remember correctly).
If you make that pic of the key at an NFT I’ll buy it. It’s kind of an amazing symbol for the learning process
Wow this guy can talk without talking!
The big days of Game Maker… Oh yes!
ngl, I want to hear the full story…
We have to quit so that we don’t quit when we want to quit again. Hope that insight from me helps Jabrils 😀 Love the videos!
This reminds me of the game dev journey of fellow youtuber kliksphilip.
Takeaway: Don’t ever eat a whole party size bag of Skittles!
Do you know of any organizations or resources that are actively trying to connect young coders with experienced mentors? I have a similar trajectory to you in my coding experience, and now I work as a Software Engineer. I’m eager to find and mentor interested and inexperienced people, but I don’t know how to find the right students.
past tense
Battletoads soundtrack gave me immortality vibes
My boy said KINGDOM HEARTS OMG I LOVED THAT ONE SO MUCH AHAHAH
No dont leave, I only just found tou and I live your work I love the voice overs and what u do, you explain the coding things well, the first video I watched was the life of a gave developer isnt what you think which got me on my game development course so thank you and I hope you stay
Also are there any good multiplayer packages for unity? I struggled to find one so just wrote my own net code. However I know it can be easily hacked
Hey I wanted to ask if you’re gonna do another c# vs Pyton? :,))
Best cereal merchandise ever! haha
First view on the channel, first comment: I definitely want to hear the long story. =)
Magic spoon seems pretty sick
Damn, G4TV takes me back.
This was me as well Jabrils. But I’m going full steam ahead! with some procrastination…
My first attempt at a game was a 3D Pokemon game when Pokemon Colloseum came out. I used 3D Game Maker back then, made great models of charizard and Pikachu, however, I didn’t know much about coding, so all I could do was to use sample code from an ego-shooter. Game turned out to be an ego shooter where you walked aroud as a pikachu with a gun shooting other Pikachu and then a boss battle with charizard. Good times, too bad I didn’t make a copy of it.
Lucky I was born in a later era and started game dev in 2020.
Nice story, thanks Jabrils.
You should check out Godot. It has a lot of similar capabilities to Unity while being free and open source.
I’ve been in a rice crispy phase for the past month or so
I used to do the same thing with Game Maker. The community was great back then.
I wanna know the full story Jabrils! Please 12:18
Awesome story mate and great inspiration, well i’ll take your advice and I hope my channel finally starts to grow and I can become a full youtuber. . . . . . maybe in another 8 years………….
A true king
Got rejected from NYU but I’d still recognize DAN SHIFF ANYWHERE AHAHAHAHA
Whats your advice for someone who wants to learn AI? Which programming language should he learn? Should he use mashine learning or deep learning? Should he learn it from a book, a course or something else? (Please answer)
also the amount of information out there in forums and youtube is gigantic…
I’m 35 and your younger self is 100% more talented than me. I’m struggling with RPG maker
TIL: The term “cells” is copyrighted by Senar in 2007 – I guess they’re able to sue all forms of modern biology!
he been struggling with ai for years
How did you manage to fund yourself farting about pretending to be a programmer for twenty years? You’re incredibly bad at … well, every bit of it. Yet somehow you didn’t starve to death for twenty years being a bad make believe ‘programmer’. That’s the real miracle here.
Jabrils you are a gem
wow the corporate art style is insane with the cereal
Jabrils using the wingardium clickbaitiosa, Super effective XXXD
That’s what exactly I’m doing right now….😨
You can call me a huge spoiler baby, but I can’t believe you’d spoil this for us by having your channel already exist. Really took the suspense out it.
I have this same problem with code lol I have an art background but think code would help me further it and also I think code is cool but I have a hard time paying attention/ trying and ultimately learning to code lol
It is really annoying how some people who know how to code hype it up to be this super difficult genius thing that you can never get into and gatekeep many people from having an awesome creative outlet.
Bruh! I used game maker as a kid too. I never made a full game. But I played with it. I plan to start learning python as my first language.
Bro watched 2 of your vid and loved it. You just got a new subscriber. the title is misleading
G4 TV!! Thats some serious nostalgia!!
Magic Spoon!? Oh no, not you too. Fine I’ll try it out. Cereal and Coding. Two awesome things. And holy crap, I remember G4 TV.
im living a parallel life
not bothering to lipsync the voiceover is a vibe
Why is this so relatable
Can’t wait see more video autobiographies
Awesome collage of photos at the end! Wow!
I wanna hear the long and tragic story
Ironic that you didn’t like eating candy like cereal for breakfast 😂
I had the same distraction problem and now I’m an ethical hacker lol
well now I know we are the exact same age
I hope he doesn’t leave yt
This gave me anxious Brackeys flashbacks
45 years old and I too think programming is too hard for me to learn.
You should host a coding bootcamp
I didn’t start coding until early on at my community college. haha That was in 2015, I’m pretty sure. I started waayy later. haha
Was anyone else expecting this video to be about the jump from Unity to Unreal?
Oatly in your cereal. That’s gangsta.
wow nice channel Jabrils and nice setup hahaha 🙂
only dude who can rock the circle glasses
It‘s a shame those peeps in your life weren’t very good at mentoring, the first guy definitely tried but accidentally made it sound way more intimidating… but dude he just up and gave you Visual Studio before it was cheap. Like I didn’t know anyone growing up who would’ve done that for me, someone with both the means and generosity to give a kid software like that. Like that’s pretty darn supportive for just a guy who’s a dad of a friend at school. Coding sure still looks hard, but it’s not insurmountable, humans have been achieving crazier things than coding games for eons. There used to be people who practiced persistence hunting, aka before spears the best way to hunt deer was apparently to run after them forever until their heart explodes, which is inhumane, but again this was a technique used before spears were invented, and peeps gotta eat somehow. Human beings both mentally and physically are built for perseverance. You don’t need to be a genius to code or do most things today, even with average IQ humans can achieve a lot of highly specialized skill and knowledge in just about anything.
he will never stop chewing, he is trapped.
Jabrils is quitting coding to create a game sharing website for all his followers. Its the rebirth of !
FULL STORY! FULL STORY!!!!
Learning new things is really hard and most people don’t even try. If you are young and have a dream, give it a shot! Don’t listen to normal people if you want greatness in your future. The ones that have no chance of doing anything are the ones that don’t even try!
You Inspire me
It was a well placed bait not gonna lie.
WE WANT LONG STORY
You were learning about AI in high school? That is crazy. The internet sucked back then as well. Youtube was just a place people watched grainy 240p videos on planking etc.
net carbs is probably the kind we can digest, unlike fiber
They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
Just a quick note. If you regularly eat those cereals with all of those dies that are in them you might as well go out and lick the road. Today’s cereals will kill you.

wait u are 29? how
n THIS BETTER BE CLICKBAIT
I’d like to see this be a full game
Damn this guy can talk without moving his mouth, I want to learn that
I’d love to see this game taken seriously! It’s a really unique concept, and I could even see a dedicated community sprouting from this.
my man so powerful he talks with his mind
The fact that he does a voice over, and just does weird faces while chewing in every video is so weird
Imagine you see him record videos and he just eating snacks and smiling at the camera
Can’t wait for Get Into Fighting Games: Ultra Bouters
Woah cool design! Determistic replay was definitely a massive pain every to time I’ve messed with it so very impressive you got it working so well
TAKE IT SERIOUS! definitely go with the build a deck idea that’ll create a suuuuuper diverse encounter between every match if you go like a dead by daylight thing where characters have a set amount of unique cards that if you use the character or the cards enough you can use them on a different character and create like a mix up of moves man I like this has got my creativity juiciiiin XD
I actually want to see ultra bouters fully debugged, I can see this is an amazing mobile and pc fighting game and if more characters were added, character specific moves and net play, this could easily become an esport(Fully debugged and polished of course), if anything this should inspire someone to make a game like this.
i used to play chess with the best player in my state, and he would often play down to a queen and a few pawns, then win. i was such a low Elo compared to him, he shouldn’t have even been playing me so he considered it an interesting challenge to win with as few pieces as possible. he would also often sacrifice his queen for no reason right away lol
Just played a few rounds of it, it feels a lot more intuitive than I expected. Definitely a lot of fun, and I support the continuing of this project, if you choose to do it, for sure!
its kind of unnerving seeing the facial movements of someone talking and hearing them talk but not seeing their mouth move at all ngl
I love this channel because I know he’s really good at programming and watching him suffer makes me feel better about constantly having literally no idea what I’m doing when developing
This game has amazing potential and could even be an esport. I would pay 60 dollars for the finished product
This is a really cool idea. All that’s left is some kind of netplay, making a character cast, and a lot of debugging and playtesting. I’d absolutely continue development if I were you
pretty fun once you have a feel for the attacks, with some polish this game could be sick as hell
I want an ultrabouters game. With full animations. Just imagine how cool that would be
One thing I’d love to see from this game, like with Toribash, is physical interaction. Additionally, it would be cool to see how damage modifiers are affected by these physical interactions. Being hit in the head very quickly would deal more damage than being grazed in the chest, for example.
This concept is super sweet! As a huge fan of deck building games I’d love to be able to customize my deck of moves, but I’d pick up a card based fighting game any day. Hope I see this in a store one day!
This is a really great concept. I’ve never thought about turn-based fighting games, and I could see this being a lot of fun to play mind games with friends. I’d totally like to see it built out and polished up.
I played your game. It is fun! I see potential. It reminds me of swords and sandals. The game just needs difficulty levels and multiplayer. You could also write a campaign mode.
Game is actually a great concept man! I’d love to see it all the way hashed out! I think it would be cool if the opposing character had some sort of “forecast” like maybe a symbol over their head to give the other fighter an opportunity to respond to their move. It would definitely allow for a higher skill ceiling. Either way, nice work.
I think this would do great with a level system, like a different animation depending on how high a certain stat is. Or higher speed or damage. Anyways, this is a really great game idea.
Have you heard of the “Exceed Fighting System?” It’s a card game meant to emulate fighting games, and it plays very similar to this
100% make this a full game with a buildable deck and everything, this would be sick as shit and I would legit buy it immediately
So glad to see this video sponsored! Come a long way, and securing the bag along the journey 💼 Love your work, thanks for sharing it with us <3
This does look a lot like a simplified version of Toribash
if you polished this game, it would prob become the best thing you’ve ever made, and straight up could become a very popular game.
The Replay feature is amazing if it’s what I think it is! So you make all your moves and then the fight plays back with no pauses? I’ve always wanted something like that for DnD, combat is so boring and crunchy if the dm recorded each players move and then at once told like an epic story the round of combat it would be so cool
This is REALLY cool Jabrils! I love the concept of using cards to attack with. Me and my friends like to play D&D but having to keep up with our home-brew moves list on a several pieces of paper started to become very confusing. So, my friend wanted to implement a card based move system for our characters and your video kind of reminded me of that. It also inspired me to get back into game making, I used Flash years ago, editing key frames, and writing simple code to make my own 2D flash games was a lot of fun. I never bothered with 3D games and engines like unity I am just not good enough to do that, but like you, I had some characters I made up and one game idea I had was to have you fly around and like protect a city from aerial assault, another was to infiltrate a facility using different characters and moves and managing your ammo. I wanted to make it immersive somewhat, implementing a pre mission mini game to repair, upgrade or load up your weapons, I abandoned the idea years ago, but I may pick it back up since your video inspired me! I love the idea and enjoyed the video!
That’s awesome man, I hope to see more projects like this in the future. As for frustrating bugs you have to spend days trying to fix, I feel your pain.
As someone who only really plays fighting games, the chess/mind games aspect of this is really exciting to see, I could totally see you getting into the opponents head and bodying them. Genuinely a really cool (and unique) game idea!
I love that you can’t button mash! It’s a solid middle ground between simple controls and toribash😂
I think my favorite fighting mechanics are from a game that’s not primarily a fighting game. The fighting in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, while not perfect, really makes you feel powerful. Being able to smack Frieza into the ground and watch the terrain scatter like my dog when she sees a dude with a beanie really feels good.
Ok this is actually really cool and could help a lot with new players learning decision making in fighting games I 100% want a full game
I know that feeling. I’ve been working on 2 games (more like demo levels), 2D and 3D, for a university project. It was my first experience with Unity and I’ve lost count of how many nights I missed debbuging code. But it was fun.
the concept and designs so far are good they legit made me click on the video and i gotta say i would love to have this as fully fledged out and designed game and i would buy it for a solid $40-48 i believe you can put those triple aaa companies to shame with an actual fun game
Yo, I would love to play a game like this, make it an online game with a ranked mode, polish out the bugs, give it some more customization options (maybe fighting styles, or different fighting cards to develop your own fighting style) and this would be amazing.
This video is VERY much appreciated! I’m pretty new to streaming and OBS and my current setup requires me to use one laptop for content and stream. Your custom stream res settings have helped me immensely. Subbed!
It’s actually a really cool game design and concept. I feel like it has a lot of potential if actually worked on to make it smooth, and spent much more time on. It’s a pretty fun game.
i’m genuinely serious: this is a really cool idea for a fighting game and I could easily see it being successful if done right
I would pay for a full release of this. I love the strategy element of this
“For anyone asking about my other games that I’ve teased, like Quaramon, Staggered or Ghalad Online, I promise you they are for sure not co-“ laughed my ass off
I would love to see this as a polished game, its such a great concept and its inspiration from chess is great
I’ve never seen a youtuber mention toribash before! I love the game, even though it’s hard to learn and has a very small player base (I’d also love to have more than just 2 players in a match. I’d love to see a 1v1v1v1 or a 2v2)
This sounds like one of the MOST fun game concepts I have ever seen. Please get a team together for this!
I think you got something good, keep polishing/bug hunting, maybe a story campaign, I think you could have something that would sell on steam. The concept is good, and there will be people that would love to play this. This is coming from a guy that is not really into fighting games.
That concept is so perfect and unique, it feels like a mixture of paper, scissors and card games. It’s way too perfect
I can’t imagine having a prototype like this and not taking it seriously.
I think you should continue working on this, I’d actually be interested in less clunky version of this !
This is awesome! I would love to see a more polished version.
This looks really cool and I would love to see a full version
This is a really cool combat system! Outside of the scope of video games, it could be a great alternative for TTRPG’s like D&D.
Great idea, I love the concept so much 🤩 I wanted to work on a similar game prototype too 😎
I actually think this could be a thing if made into a full game. Good idea man
I’ve been looking for something EXACTLY like this!!! I thought it would be a great idea after playing both Torribash and Punch Club.
I dont know if this has been suggested yet (or how hard it’d be to code lmao) but maybe adding a translucent preview of your move onto the card when you hover over it may be an cool idea
Fight In Tight Spaces
this game sure needs a hell amount of polishing BUT holy caw, it’s damn promising and has an awesome concept as well
The tutorial will be key. Stepping through the cards to teach their use. Very powerful for improving it’s user-friendliness, Like that’s also sort of the campaign of it too, is you unlocking new moves and fighting foes. Otherwise yes, it will mostly just be you and your buddy fighting each other, did you create an AI or did you Multiplayer it, or both? I don’t recall hearing.
In my experience living with comp sci majors: if something went better than you thought, you probably did something wrong
Found this totally by random and I’m loving this idea! Definitely flesh it out. I’ll be playing this live later to try it out lol
Bro, this is such a good concept. I’d definitely play it if it was more polished.
I really like how he voices over everything
I’ve seen this type of game before. It’s called Fights in Tight Spaces. The demo was a released a little while ago, but works the exact same way. You are shuffled like four or five cards, each one a different fighting move. To play a card you have to spend energy points, which you only have a limited amount of. Cards that don’t require points don’t do damage such as movement cards or push/shove. Once you’re out of energy, it is the opponents’ turn (multiple because you are fighting against AI). Some cards are only playable if there is an ongoing combo (punching people multiple times in a turn).
Can’t believe I just found this channel. You have incredible potential, keep up the good work!
I just found ur channel through this ive always loved fighting games and like yes frame data is strategic but this is genius
I love toribash and taking that turn based approach and simplifying the micromanagement looks great. Smooth it up, give better tells, more responsive and y charted hit feedback and you’re good. I dislike the card idea, if it’s supposed to be like chess it could be standardized with cards being removed by the associated hurtboxes being hit or over using the move. Simple in and out moves could be combined for advancing or retreat while doing a move
I’d love to see this game get made seriously , although I won’t get my hopes up because I’ve followed some gamejolt games for years only to be disappointed when they are dropped
I love how it all started to a chess game and becomes a good fighting games
“Fighting games are boring” he says while promoting raid
I once heard a game idea where it’s a physics based fighting game similar to toribash except instead of doing all the moves on the spot instead you develop them on your own time in a dojo and then bind them to hotkeys. So like you could develop a certain kick that you like, then you save it to a hotkey, then when you’re in a fight you can move around and hit that hotkey whenever you want to execute that move. It’d be like a normal fighting game except everybody’s moveset is different, then you could see metas developing as people find a balance between making their moves versatile vs making them powerful.
I think it could be a cool game, but you should make it so it shows effective range before use, also throw rng out of the window, make it so the players have the same moves from the begging, it would enable planning because if you would pay attention you would know what moves your opponent can do at the moment, which he can soon etc
i would love to see this game grow to a bigger game, its a really good game
Lol. This is literally the same set of problems I’ve seen time and time again making console games. Replays going awry. Interpolation issues. All that. You figure it out eventually, and then plan for it to prevent issues like this from happening. But that happens over time. In the short amount of time you had to work on this, its pretty good.
I worked on an indie board game called Exceed and the alternative version of this game is on steam for free called Battle Con. If you like the idea of a complex card game with stress level strategy but as simple as smash then these are some really good titles!
I honestly like this concept, just some hit effects, animation work for more ease in antecipation and so on, and i can see this be a competitive game like footsies
Me, a professional software dev looking at game developers: Are you a god?
A fighting game based around building a deck of moves is really cool and I’d love to see you implement that and put more time into the game
This looks really fun, you should continue to work on it, this has a lot of potential!
This is awesome, you have my subscription. I hope more comes of this!
If you show a ghost overlay of what a move will accomplish while hovering over each card it will make it easier to understand the distances
yeah i’d love to see you do something more with this.
You could make a time sensitive version of it that is actually multiplayer and works with keys from the keyboard instead of cards on the screen.
Looks really sick actually, I could see it being clean with some more polish and some expansion on the features
I love this concept so much and would love for you to take it more seriously
I would love to see you try to take it seriously and polish it. Seeing what you could do with a month or two on this idea would be pretty cool. As you already have a working prototype. Adding a tutorial/Manuel. And maybe a multiplayer mode if it doesn’t already have that. Potentially, reducing the number of options at one time but having it cycle moves. If you want to have it not be random you could have a deterministic deck order which can be chosen before you start the game. Then when you use a move you cycle through it. Then the move you use moves to the bottom of a deck. You could represent the deck as a queue and place any used moved into it and just pop of the top when you draw. Potentially having moves that allow you to cycle faster, block attacks, or reduce the cooldowns for other attacks might be nice. Although, if you wanted to go super serious you could try to improve the animation system to support combos that seems like a ton of work for something that will mainly improve how it looks. Simplifying the controls/ and interface could also help with your stated goal of making it quick to learn. Toribash is also super cool. I have spent a couple dozen hours on it and am still pretty bad at it.
This shit looks awesome. You really should expand this concept and make a full fledged game. It’s a very unique and interesting idea.
I would absolutely love a serious one like this
A concept that I’ve always wanted to see as a playable game. Would definitely buy the polished product.
I not only want to see this game developed more, but also want to play it.
Bro, this is so innovative! If this video goes viral you should make a Kickstarter or whatever, build a team a polish it until it takes over the world!
This is actually a super cool concept. I’d like to see it go further!
This game actually looks super fun you should continue it
the concept of this game is eerily similar to an idea a friend of mine had for a long time, but neither of us are devs, so it’s still in the “wouldn’t that be cool?” phase. this video is inspiring us to get back to it! great stuff.
This is the kind of fighting game that I’d probably get really into. The one thing I would hope to see is have animation reactions where the moves change the positioning of the model, and that changes how the next move might play out. For example, if player 1 throws a right hook, and the other player doesn’t block, it causes them to lean over from being hit in the face. Then, if player 2 used a right hook, it would go for the ribs instead of the face. Maybe that would be too complex, but either way I love the concept!
PLEASE make this a full game, I’m so down for a fighting game like this!
I was expecting him to make an anime fighting game where you play as overpowered characters like saitama or even remiru
There’s a tekken app game that reminds me of this concept. You’ve probably heard of it. Tekken Card Tournament. I do like this concept of taking fighting games to a more strategic focus that let’s you play in a way similar to chess, but I think Toribash is more fun than choosing cards. In toribash, muscles are the cards, and they’re always available, so the luck factor is minimized. I’m not saying this is a bad idea, but I think it can certainly be improved bearing this feedback in mind. I mean, what makes chess fun? What makes fighting games fun? How can we preserve these two elements?
Need a full game of this, it could change the mindless mashing/spamming in fighting games. Making it more of an actual strategy game that most fighting games strive to be but fail
This game actually reminds me a lot of “Fights in tight spaces” which also follows a card based framework for fighting
The neckbeard is growing. Careful, hes getting more and more powerful as we speak!
Yeah, I’d love to see this developed more!
looks cool! haven’t played it yet so I’m not sure if this is a feature but I think adding a timer when choosing an action would add a nice sense of urgency
This concept could be applied to a lot of other fighting game genres. Medieval, traditional martial arts, wrestling. And with the work I can see it being used for an rpg.
Hell yeah I’d like to see a full game!
I swear to god, Jabril’s “Yo guys” cleanse your soul on a level no other thing can.
this is such a cool idea, i’d love to see more
